Well we were talking about Marleshwar temple; Marleshwar temple is located in konkan region in Maral village near sangmeshwar in Ratnagiri district.

I heard about this temple there are various snakes in the temple, and I was very much curious to see that but unfortunate I was little unlucky to see the spectacle. But its true many snakes can be seen in the caves but there has been no complaint of any devotee being nibbled by snake.

Marleshwar is also known for its beautiful waterfalls and Green Mountain like Lord Bramha created one more heaven at Marleshwar.

There is also a waterfall known as Dhareshwar, this Waterfall originates from the river Bav. There are many stories devoted with Marleshwar. And one of those story that marriage of Girijadevi and Marleshwar on Makar Sankranti day, so the locals have a great enjoyment and fun on Makar Sankranti. From this temple you can also have a look at the mountains of Sahyadris. This place is a real place of peacefulness to visit during monsoon. Lord Parshuram did the foundation of the temple.

Guys, we started at 8.30am from Ratnagiri by my Car with my wife and my friend Jagdish and his wife. We took NH17 from Ratnagiri to Sangmeshwar, while traveling we have seen many marks and direction for Marleshwar, but for my friend Jagdish it was 3rd trip for him, so we reach very comfortably, the road was little curved and with few sharp turns, and little narrow but road condition is good.

I enjoyed driving once again and this time my wife enjoyed too, as my wife criticized about my rough driving when we trip to Mahalaxmi temple, kolhapur.

Finally we reach at starting point of Marleshwar temple, we park my car at covered parking by paying Rs.40. You can also park in open that’s free of cost, there are ample parking spaces where all the MSRTC bus parked and local people park there only.

We started climbing the steps its approx. 400 to 500 steps towards Lord Shiva Temple. We took darshan of lord shiva linga, try to find snakes in caves but it was dark inside the caves.

There are many monkeys who are very friendly if you feed them and I did so, and we move towards waterfalls from beside the temple. It will be good tracking experience if you like adventure. You need to take care while walking on rock solid stone, it may slippery and sharp, so it advisable if you wear sport shoe but not spike one.

Then finally we reach at waterfall and we specially me enjoyed below waterfall and experienced the natural minerals from cascade.

I was crazy looking at waterfalls and pond, and how can I resist myself I jumped to pond and feeling bless that never want come out from there. But guys you know the women power specially home minister…hahaha..

We back to Temple again because that same route to come down, we reach at small hotel called “The Bite” where we had delicious misal pav and kanda pohe and son kadhi while coming and decided to take lunch and go home..it was really tasty foods guys, I will surely recommended to taste the bite at “the bite”.

We reach Ratnagiri by 5pm as I got good sleep in car, I insist my friend jagdish to drive.

Marleshwar Temple at maral, guys if you are in Ratnagiri or visiting Ganpatipule you must visit Marleshawar, if you like this post kindly share with other and let them enjoy green mountains of sahyadri hills and to take bless of Lord shiva at Marleshwar..
